Hello

I have always loved nature and the outdoors. I grew up in the fantastic North Yorkshire countryside and coastline. Throughout my childhood I spent time helping our family gardener, my dad in the greenhouse and occasionally spending time with my best friend at her parents' nursery.

I was interested in caring for others and caring about nature. I decided to care for others and eventually became a mental health nurse, specialising in dementia care. What mattered to the people I worked with, were experiences and joy; many moments of joy were created outside and being in beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces often brought these individuals a sense of calmness, wellbeing and connectivity. I was experiencing through them the power of gardening as therapy. The idea that a garden and by extension, gardening, was therapeutic.

I had discovered a way to combine my interests and talents - gardening. 

 

I knew that I wanted to share this joy and wellbeing with as many people as possible and so, Bizzi Izzi gardens - an English Country Gardeners website and business was created.
